Reduce Dinner Time Stress
I needed something that would reduce my dinner time stress…. I love seeing all the various websites and posts showing insanely organized people prepping a whole months worth of meals for the freezer in one day. Seriously, kudos to those folks! I have no idea what my family’s schedule will look like next week or what I will want to eat tomorrow so planning and executing a whole months worth of meals is just out of my comprehension.
I take advantage of the freezer to keep prepped foods on hand and ready for use in various meals. This helps keep us out of the drive-thru more often and encourages us to eat healthy at home. I find by keeping healthy prepped ingredients on hand in the freezer allows more flexibility with our meals on the fly. I still plan out a weekly menu but most things can easily be changed around when needed.
These are the items I keep in the freezer to reduce our dinner time stress. I package them up by what I would typically need in a recipe/meal for our family of four.
- Taco Meat- For Tacos, Salads, nachos
- Ground Hamburger cooked with diced onion and lightly seasoned- For Casseroles, Tacos
- Diced Teriyaki Chicken- For Salads, stir-fry’s, wraps
- Shredded Chicken-For Tacos, Casseroles, Salads
- Leftover Diced Steak- Add a little onion in a fry pan with it and a little taco seasoning for awesome steak tacos or omelets
- Store bought frozen veggies- EVERYTHING
What do you keep in your freezer to make your life easier when it comes to dinner time?
