So fast so far, gone too soon

Gone Too Soon

Gone Too Soon Last night I learned someone I graduated with passed away in her sleep. Although we were more of acquaintance than great friends, this has really affected me and so many others. Her gorgeous big blue eyes paled in comparison to her infectious bright big smile and bubbly personality. No doubt gone to soon. Just one more unwanted reminder that tomorrow is never guaranteed. Although today has been the line in the sand for me to get back to my healthy routines and be committed, my heart really has not been into it. I have been struggling[Continued…]

Bowflex Max Trainer

Bowflex Max Trainer

Hubby has been wanting an indoor cardio machine for awhile and we finally decided to go with the Bowflex Max Trainer.  This thing is a beast!  I chuckled to myself when I read reviews that said some people were unable to do the 14 minute workout recommended by Bowflex to start with……  Seriously this was way harder of a workout than it looked on all those cool infomercials, lol.  I am definitely feeling like I am getting a great workout in just 14 minutes and I have not even incorporated the interval training yet so there is a lot of[Continued…]

Holiday Meal Game Plan

What is your strategy for getting through the big meals without going overboard and staying on track?  Fail to plan, plan to fail!  In other words, if you think you can just go with the flow you are very wrong.  The flow will be overeating and eating items that are meant to be enjoyed on occasion and in moderation.  I am guessing most of the flow will not be paying attention to any kind of moderation because it is the holidays.  But not you my friends, I know you are lifestyle changers not just quick fixers and will be[Continued…]

Have A Backup Plan

This is a PSA to have multiple backup plans for your workouts! I made sure everything was set up and ready to go last night.  DVD in player, clothes out, etc.  Unfortunately, our power protector/cleaner for our entire entertainment system had been tripped and I couldn’t get power back on so no TV or DVD, ugh.  Option B was to use Beachbody on Demand and stream to Kolon’s tablet…..unfortunately he left it on so it was dead, lol.  Considered option C of just going for walk but opted for D instead.  Option D was a total body Kettlebell workout[Continued…]

Only Day 10 And Already Feeling Great

Only Day 10 And Already Feeling Great I was just thinking to myself how great I really do feel.  I got a little spring in my step and just feel good.   I cannot believe how much just 10 little days of healthy habits can greatly improve how you feel! I got up just before 6am for some cardio that really got me sweating.   I already drank my breakfast shake and ate my veggies for a snack.  Today is already looking to be another great day 🙂

Where I Have Been

Where I Have Been Where I have been…..I have been overweight for quite some time now….  probably since getting pregnant with my first son many years ago.  It started out with just a few pounds to maybe 20 pounds but the last several years it seems my body has decided that it really likes to be at about 185-190.  Too bad I don’t like my body at that weight!  I have managed to get down to about 165 on a couple occasions with various workouts/diets but it never lasted long 🙁 I have decided that 2015 WILL be the year I[Continued…]
